On the right riverbank of the Idrijca river, beneath Tratnik, landslides occurred due to special geological, hydrological and relief features.

Extending over the surface of about 200 metres the land is exposed; numerous water sources, streams and rockslides furrow the surface and prevent it from overgrowing. This is one of the largest and most astonishing barren lands (“golica”) in Slovenia harbouring some Carnian rocks. This area also boasts fossil and shell finds as well as plant remnants from that period.
