As the Strug gorge lowers to the mown grassland looking up at the bright sky, towards us opens the village of Idrijska Bela. There the valley of Idrijca is slightly wider, with small flat regions and folded slopes.

The landscape is cultivated, the houses, summer houses, private houses, farmhouses are scattered over the sunny riverbanks and slopes. However, the area of Zgornja Idrijca has remained unpopulated for a long time. It was only after mercury had been discovered that the town of Idrija witnessed the growth in population of this area.

Right beside the confluence one can see a bathing spot at Lajšt which proves to be a popular destination to cool off on hot summer days and where the idrijca and Belca rivers have a refreshing effect in sizzling weather.

What is more, in a cottage at this bathing spot one is able to freshen up before entering the more secluded area of the park.

The splashing water, warm sun, small houses for barbecues, children’s playground, volleyball court are more than one could possibly need in order to spend a relaxing summer afternoon.
